La Baronia's construction dates back to the sixteenth century. At the beginning of the 20th century, Mr. Francisco Trinxet commissioned the construction of an Art Nouveau building over the old farmhouse of Can Bosch, designed by Gaudí’s student, the architect Joan Rubio y Bellvera. During the Spanish Civil War, the house was used as a military hospital, then a prison. After the war, the family regained the house, restoring its original splendor and atmosphere and the name of La Baronia Barcelona. Ancient Roman and Baroque sculptures and paintings from different eras reappeared and still adorn the halls and dining rooms of La Baronia Barcelona.
