After being sent home from San Jose State to live with her parents, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, Cheyanne found herself swiping on the dating app Tinder. She came across Alex's profile. A handsome man, holding a fish in almost all of his photos. She swiped right and patiently waited for a match notification. Alex's best man, Garryt, made him tag along to pick up a video game in Sacramento. While on the way there, Alex got a notification that someone on Tinder liked his profile (yes, he was paying for Tinder Premium, like a loser). He saw Cheyanne's profile and instantly messaged her. You are probably wondering what clever and funny message he decided to start the conversation with. "Living my life in a slow hell, different girl every night at the hotel" was what he decided to go with. For those of you that don't know, those are the lyrics to Picture by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow. Why Alex decided to send the lyrics from a song about a breakup, the world may never know. But after a few minutes, Cheyanne and Alex quickly dove into more serious topics about their lives. After a few weeks of constant texting and multiple long phone calls, they decided to finally plan their first date. Due to COVID, they did not have many date options. Alex made the drive to Rio Vista and picked up Cheyanne for their first date at Foster's. They spent the whole evening laughing and talking. One week later, Alex asked Cheyanne to be his girlfriend at the beach in Bodega Bay. The two moved in together in October 2021. In July 2022 they added their dog, Remy, to their little family. After over four years together, Alex proposed during a camping trip. Alex, Cheyanne, Remy, and Alex's dad, Benno took a walk to the beach. While Cheyanne was playing fetch with Remy, Alex got down on one knee and popped the question, while Benno took photographs. They then went back and celebrated with some of their favorite people.
