In the early months of 2024, Chanel & Alex were both praying to meet each other. Specifically, Alex was praying to find his "Spiritual Cowgirl" while Chanel was praying to find her husband. On May 6th, 2024 — they were brought together through our synergistic businesses, Family Permaculture and PermaCulture Party. Both businesses shared a common mission of leveraging permaculture to educate, inspire, and empower communities and families to live more regenerative and connected lifestyles, in harmony with the natural world. What began as a business meeting quickly blossomed into a love story. By the beginning of June, it was clear that they had found their soulmates as they fell in love before meeting in person — staying up late video chatting each other, and sending long audio messages back and forth. Towards the end of June, they met in person for the first time as Alex drove down from Minnesota to Chanel's home in Arkansas. Then, they took a trip to North Carolina together and happened to camp at a permaculture farm on the way. In the winter of 2025, Alex moved down to Arkansas, for their family to set down roots together. In August 2025, Alex proposed while harvesting paw paws in the park they will be getting married at — Lake Leatherwood. Chanel & Alex feel very blessed to blend their love for permaculture with their lifestyle and professional endeavors. Over the next 10-24 months, they plan to root down further in Arkansas by moving into their forever home and planting food forests on the land.
