We’re eloping!

Alex and Brittni met in the break room at work! Alex was talking with another co-worker and, being his outgoing self, wanted to include Brittni in the conversation, which she politely joined. To humor Alex, of course.

Brittni asked Alex if he liked country music. While trying to play it cool, but on the verge of breaking his fingers from trying to respond so quickly, Alex responded, "I don't mind it." Little did he know that he'd just opened himself up to humiliation because after he responded, Brittni asked if he'd like to go line dancing with her. Luckily, he didn't break his ankles and, after seeing how bad he is at dancing, Brittni still wanted to go on more dates with him.

Starting with a hike to Drift Creek Falls, Alex and Brittni started going on adventures together. Going to the top of the Space Needle, seeing a snowy Crater Lake, ringing in 2020 at the Oregon Coast, discovering hidden places in John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, Brittni meeting the Browne family in March of 2020, Alex meeting Brittni's entire family in June, both of them being introduced to the beauty of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks that same month, Brittni meeting the Vandagriff family in July, going to Glacier National Park in September, going to a pumpkin patch for Brittni's birthday in October, Brittni meeting Adain that same month, exploring a snowy Mount Rainier with Jacob in January of this year, both of them falling in love with Redwoods National and State Parks on Alex's birthday this year, bowling with Andrew, Jacob, Papa Simpson (which was the day Alex bowled a 165; his highest scoring game) to celebrate Papa Simpson's birthday and so many adventures between all of those. It's been an eventful eighteen months for both of them.

While Brittni and Alex have discussed getting married several times and both are on board with spending the rest of their life with the other, they finally talked about doing it. On a car ride home on Papa Simpson's birthday, with Papa Simpson driving, Brittni (in the front seat), texted Alex (...in the backseat), "What if we just get eloped?" And Alex asked Papa Simpson what he thought, and when he gave his blessing, Alex and Brittni started planning to get married.
