A boy from St. Joseph, MO and a girl from Westwood, MA both Wildcats find love in Hanover, New Hampshire. Who would have thought? In 2018, Blake moved to the east coast after spending his whole life in Missouri. He became the volunteer assistant baseball coach at Dartmouth. In summer of 2019, Blake was promoted to assistant coach, little did he know he was going to get a lot more than just added work responsibility. That same summer, Alex accepted the head women's lacrosse coaching job at Dartmouth. After being warned that it would be hard to find love in a small college town, Alex had no intention of getting into a relationship, little did she know she was going to fall for the guy in the office next to her. After a month of being office mates, they had their first conversation where Blake helped Alex figure out how to get recruit tickets for a football game. Their friendship started to blossom with nights spent in Alex's basement playing ping pong, going to Salt Hill, and hanging out around the fire pit at Blake's. Then as Blake will tell you, Alex sent a flirty email. While, she will tell you it was a harmless invite to the bar. The Dartmouth Christmas Party is where sparks started to fly. Blake did not ask for Alex's number and not wanting to wait around, Alex made the first move. "Patriots vs Chiefs, loser buys dinner." Patriots lose but Blake buys dinner. The rest is history. Covid hit, both of their seasons were cancelled giving them more time to hang out, get a puppy, play games, and do some home improvement. Multiple visits to the Cape and St. Joseph, MO, allowed them to get to know each others families. Then on August 21st, Blake proposed on the Cape with both families there to celebrate! Alex and Blake live in Lebanon, NH with their dogs, Wrigley and Willie, about 15 minutes from Dartmouth where they both get to live out their dreams of coaching the sport that they love.
