Maid of Honor
Growing up eight years apart, I have always looked up to and been proud of my sister. She has been with me through the best times and the worst times and I can't think of anyone else I would want more than her to be standing by my side as I get married. I have learned a lot from her through the years and as we have grown older, we have grown closer (especially since we are now neighbors). She also made me an aunt two years ago to an amazing, rambunctious little boy, Bronson (who will be the mini groom in the wedding). Bronson has changed both mine and Alex's lives forever and we could not be more thankful!
Best Man
Adam is only a year older than me, so we have spent many many years together. Growing up he was my partner in crime and we were always causing some kind of trouble (well he was, I, obviously, was not). He has taught me a lot over the years and has always given me a helping hand when I needed it. For example, when I was a baby, he thought I was hungry so he dumped baby formula into my crib to feed me. Even though, he lives hundreds of miles from Platteville, I am so happy that he will be able to stand by my side when I get married.
Bridesmaid
Amanda and I met three years ago at UW-Platteville's soccer tryouts. Little does she know, when I first met her I didn't want to like her, because we were both competing for the goalkeeper's position. However, after we both made the team and rode the bench together for a whole season (I rode the bench because of lack of ability, she rode the bench because of a lingering knee injury), we became best friends. She has lessened my dislike of reptiles and other creepy animals, through her love and compassion for all animals, and she almost has me not hating horror movies so much. I am lucky to have met Amanda and it was so nice to have a friend at UW-Platteville with me (besides Alex)!
Groomsman
Austin and I have known each other for a very long time. We grew up playing sports together but never really talked until Ashley and I started dating. You make family dinners and outings way more entertaining with your jokes, funny comments, and by helping me make fun of Ashley and Amanda. I am very happy that you will be standing by my side as I say "I do" and I know Ashley is very excited to have you in the wedding.
Personal Attendant
Alicia and I have been friends ever since we started playing club soccer together in middle school. Growing up, I remember: having sleep overs at your house and trying to pull an all-nighter (nowadays I couldn't pull an all-nighter if I tried while you on the other hand, do it every night); biking around Platteville specifically to Kwik Trip to buy energy drinks that we weren't supposed to have; and going to spend time up in Waukesha at her dad's house where we would go to Brewer's games and go sailing on her sail boat. I am lucky to have a friend like Alicia and even though she has moved on to bigger and better things away from Platteville, when we see each other we pick up right where we left off.
