Once upon a time, not long ago, Alex and Aron met in a land named “Coffee Meets Bagel”. Instead of meeting in their human forms, Alex and Aron took the ethereal form of “online profiles” and from the safety of their homes drew mysterious patterns on their glowing tablets, in the form of swiping right, and then began using both of their thumbs to create sequences of ideas, strings of communication that led to mutual intrigue into the mind of the other. They then took corporeal form and decided to meet in a physical space called a “bar” when Aron was very post call and Alex had no idea what that meant. Things went swimmingly and after three dates Aron told Alex that he accepted a job in a land called “California” but that he thought Alex’s spiritual, emotional, and physical patterns would easily enmesh with his, for life, and this would cause happiness for the two of them together. Months passed. Before committing to such a journey west, Alex and Aron decided to spend 4 weeks in physical form in a land called “China”, one most foreign to them. Unable to communicate, their hand gestures in physical form such as swiping right to show approval of goods or vittles made no sense to the local shopkeepers and restauranteurs. Relying on pointing to photos, and often asking the genie named “google translate”, who lives in their tablet, to speak for them to these native peoples. After weeks of buns, noodles, hiking the yellow mountain, a steaming bowl of chicken hearts and driving motorcycles around the hills of southern China Aron felt in his spiritual form a feeling called “love”. Luckily, Alex felt it too. Alas they had to part in the physical land of the “La Guardia airport” where they committed to a year of distance with the plan for Alex to follow Aron to the land of “California.” A year later she did just that where they have been living and working in a harmony that transcends mind body and spirit.
