When Alex and Anna first met, it was not love at first sight. They were both working at the Wagon Wheel restaurant in Dahlonega, GA. Alex was working his way through college as a cook and Anna was working her first job in high school as a waitress. Alex took school very seriously and worked to make money, not friends. His stand offish demeanor made Anna very uncomfortable around him. So much so, that she was mad to see his car in the parking lot when she showed up for her shift. Fast forward 5 years and both Alex and Anna found themselves on Tinder. Anna was aimlessly scrolling haven given up on dating for the time being. She wasn't even looking at every profile without swiping "no". She happened to look down and Alex's profile caught her eye. After scrolling through his pictures, she realized she knew him. The Alex from Wagon Wheel. Alex recognized her, but the real thing that drew him in was Anna's fire profile pictures. Having grown up a lot in the last 5 years, Anna sent the first message as soon as we matched and Alex soon asked her on a date. The beginning of the date was more awkward than typical first dates because Anna was worried about being around grumpy Alex from the Wagon Wheel. She was so quiet that Alex wasn't sure there would be a second date after the first 30 minutes of their date at the Hola Mexican restaurant. Despite all of this, they ended up shutting down the restaurant talking as things took a turn for the great! The rest is history. Anna hasn't stopped talking since and Alex fondly remembers the few hours she was quiet. They have since built a fantastic life together. Supporting each other in their hobbies of dog sports and car racing, raising their 4 dog children: Ford, Ranger, Ajay and Braxx, and enjoying Crossfit together.
Anna had been practically begging to get engaged. Alex told her over and over, "Someday, but not yet". So when he planned a trip to her hometown to race his car at Mid-Ohio, she thought nothing of it. He wanted to go a day early to visit family and do some exploring. Anna loves to dress comfy. Ponytail, no makeup, t-shirt, gym shorts, and chacos. The day they planned to go exploring, he managed to convince her to put on something presentable. He brought a tripod for their phones to take photo since they "hadn't taken any pictures last time they visited". Alex was adamant about going to Mt Jeez, a hill that did not compare to the mountains of North GA Alex was used to. Anna was so confused about why he wanted to go so badly. It was one of Anna's favorite childhood spots though. Even with this, there was still no suspicion of what was to come. At a gift shop, Alex found t-shirts that said Mt Jeez on them. Alex never wants to buy shirts, so again, Anna was confused about why he wanted to get them. After a late lunch, Anna wanted to go on a hike with the dogs. Alex began to sweat because he saw that Mt Jeez had a gate now and a closing time. Anna was confused once again about what the big deal was about going to Mt Jeez. Finally, Alex got Anna on Mt Jeez. He got out the tripod and set it up to take pictures. Anna got ready to pose and Alex got down on one knee. It was an obvious yes. They headed back to where they were staying. When they rounded the corner to pull in, Anna saw the driveway full of cars. Alex had recruited the whole family to set up and throw an engagement party. Anna's mom and stepdad flew up from Georgia and her Aunt and Cousins were there to yell surprise. It was truly a dream!
