Yes! There will be a shuttle from the Hampton Inn to Good Roots and back again starting at 4pm and ending at 11pm. There is some parking (not infinite amounts, though) at the farm so if you chose to drive that is an option. We do have it reserved through the next day so if you drive out and decide you aren't comfortable driving back, you can leave your car there and return for it the next day.
Absolutely! Our kids will be running around. the ceremony will be short and sweet. The food is simple and kid friendly and the reception is at the same place with a big yard to run around in and yard games and music. We also understand the drive to want a reason to dress up and NOT chase kids so if you want to leave them at home we won't hold it against you. If you would like to bring a guest to help keep track of your kids that would fine too, just give us a heads up in your RSVP or give us a call.
Business casual? Or whatever you're comfortable in. Honestly, we don't care what you wear as long as you're enjoying yourself. It will be outside on a farm in grass, for the most part, so wear shoes that are comfortable. Wear weather appropriate clothes based on the daily forecast so that you are comfortable. I will note that those not from SD should know that July is usually plenty warm and sometimes very windy. There are baby goats so if you plan on petting them wear something that you don't mind them nibbling on.
As most know, Andrew and I have been super vigilant about COVID the last few years. As of right now the cases are very low, a running average of 0 cases per every 7 days. We will keep an eye on case counts for Brookings County and the surrounding area and adjust our plans as necessary as time goes forward. Currently, our celebration is located outside, as is the reception and the meal. There is a large barn for indoor use if weather or other circumstances dictate that we relocate inside. We plan on keeping it as outside as possible so that immune-compromised friends and loved ones can enjoy the day just as freely as any other individual. If cases rise significantly, a new and threatening variant presents it's self, and weather or something else dictates that we relocate inside, we will happily provide disposable masks for everyone to use inside the barn. But let's keep our fingers crossed that all of those things don't happen for a lot of reasons other than us having to be inside and wear a mask in order to enjoy each other's company.
