Travel Note

Italy Travel Requirements

Your passport needs to be valid 6 months after your return date, so please double check if you need to get it renewed prior to the trip. Europe now requires fingerprints for anyone traveling with passports other than EU passports upon arrival at customs. Please be aware of that as you are making travel plans/deciding on your connections. Europe is planning on instating a VISA requirement (ETIAS) for non-EU citizens. At this time, this should not be instated until the last quarter of 2026. If anything changes, we will be sure to notify you. Please plan on bringing some cash with you (Euros). Make sure you notify your credit card company of travel to avoid any issues once you get there. Also, check with your phone provider to see if you can get an international plan for your travel.

Hotel

Castello Di Ristonchi

We have rented out the entire venue for everyone to stay on site, so there is no hotel block reserved for this event. We are asking that everyone sends us €200/night per person in order to cover the rooms, meals, drinks, etc for all the festivities. (Total of €600/person). Please look up the current exchange rate for what that is in dollars. Meals/Drinks included: Friday Dinner, Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner on Saturday & Sunday, and Breakfast on Monday. There will be snacks and bar for you to purchase anything you would like between meals. Please venmo Amelie (@Amelie-Kouba) for your party. If you are not comfortable with Venmo, please reach out to us separately so we can find another method. The venue requires some information about each guest (including copies of your passport) prior to our arrival, so we will be reaching out at a later date to get what we need from you.

Flight

Amerigo Vespucci Airport

The Florence airport is the closest airport to the venue. We will have shuttles available from the Airport to the venue.

Train

Traveling from Other Places

If you are planning on traveling around Italy and are arriving into Florence by train, you will either have to travel to the airport to catch the shuttle or you will have to rent a car from the station. Please see section about rental cars if that is how you are planning on getting to the venue. To get from Florence Santa Maria Novella train station to Florence Airport (FLR), you can take the T2 tram line. The tram runs directly between the train station and the airport. Alternatively, you can take the Volainbus shuttle bus from the train station to the airport. Taxis are also available, with a fixed rate.

Shuttle

Shuttle Between Florence Airport and the Venue

July 24, 2026 1:30 pm

We will have shuttles from the Florence airport to the venue on July 24th and shuttles from the venue to the airport on July 27th. Shuttles to the venue on Friday will be between 1:30pm and 4:30pm. Shuttles from the venue back to the airport on Monday are between 7:30am and 11:15am. Please let us know if you plan on using the shuttle when you RSVP.

Rental Car

Rental Car Companies

The Florence airport and train station offer rental car services (a lot of the same companies as in the United States). Tip: check your credit card points/rewards to see if you can get discounts at a specific rental car company. NOTE YOU WILL NEED AN INTERNATIONAL DRIVERS LICENSE (You can easily get those at some AAA locations).
