Like most other weddings, please don't wear white, cream, or any similar color (yes, this was an actual question posed to the bride and groom. We can't believe we had to say it, but here we are). Other than that, we ask that guests wear semi-formal/cocktail attire. We encourage fall colors, but it's certainly not required.
The average high during this time of year is 82 degrees Fahrenheit while the low is typically somewhere around 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Because the ceremony is being held mid-day while the reception is occurring in the early evening, we suggest bringing a light cardigan or coat if you get chilly easily. Think layers which can be taken off easily when warm.
The ceremony is being held outdoors in a wooded area, which offers a good bit of shade. We recommend wearing block heels, wedges, or flat soled shoes in order to avoid sinking into the grass/mulch. The reception will be held in a dual indoor-outdoor setting where dancing and drinks will be offered outside while the meal and other events will be held in an air-conditioned area. **Please note that it is a bit of a walk to the ceremony site. The venue offers golf cart rides to the ceremony area for anyone who may struggle to get there on their own (or if you're just lazy).
There will be an hour-long cocktail hour where guests will be able to mingle and snack on hors d'oeuvres while the bridal party takes photos nearby.
Yes, but DAWG FANS ONLY. Once the reception winds down, we will be showing the Georgia versus Alabama (ew) football game on the big screen. During this event, shirts may come off (men only. Sorry ladies) and words will be had (or yelled)--this event will not be for the light of heart as we are die-hard Georgia Bulldog fans.
Short answer: YES! Everyone is invited. This event will be occurring on Friday, September 27th. We will be having Louisiana-style Cajun faire made with love by Alex's family. Think jambalaya.
Help us get the party started as scheduled! We recommend that you arrive an hour before the start of the ceremony to make sure everyone is seated on time.
This venue offers large parking accommodations. There will be room for everyone, and it's FREE! If you or a loved one have a disability or handicap, please add this information into your RSVP; we will save a spot for you closer to the ceremony/reception areas.
We love you and your little ones--please bring them along! Note: there will be no onsite childcare. Each family will be responsible for the care of their little ones. The only thing we ask is for you to excuse yourself and the child in the event of any tantrums or crying.
Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only (if you have a plus one, it will say so on your invitation). We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation.
After the wedding ceremony, we will be serving light passed hors d’oeuvres accompanied by an open bar. We invite you to toast to our nuptials with a curated selection of wine, beer and seltzers.
Yes! We have reserved none other than Hallie Janes Catering for the event. We will be having Southern inspired faire served buffet style.
We are so thankful you will be joining us for this celebration of our love. While gifts are not expected, we have registered for a few items we need for our newlywed home. A link to our wedding registry can be found here on Zola or online at Amazon.
