We met at the local college town bar (we love you Booties!) through a mutual friend. Once Alex moved to Boston post-graduation, we started scheduling visits to see each other. After three failed attempts to ask me to be in a relationship, I finally agreed to date him. Once I graduated, I accepted a position at my first law firm in Boston, MA. Upon starting this new chapter in my life, we moved into our first apartment together. While we miss our nights at Cityside and Sunday's spent watching football together (go Pats!), the pandemic led us on a new adventure. We took a leap of faith moving from the east coast to the west coast, leaving our friends and family, with only our love for each other and a 16' Penske truck.
Alexis' version: We were visiting college friends in New York when we all went for drinks at the Country Club of Troy. We took a group picture on the 18th green and while everyone else was walking back to the table, Alex got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Alex's version: Like every major decision in my life, I reached out to my parents for guidance. After multiple conversations, I finally picked the right ring. I had to sneak the ring through TSA and the watchful eye of a nosy girlfriend. After arriving in New York, with a plan set, it all came crashing down the day of the proposal. The venue cancelled hours before, and I was freaking out. After countless phone calls with other venues, I had a new plan set in motion. We went for drinks at the Country Club of Troy and I got down on one knee on the 18th green. With a yes from Alexis and champagne to celebrate, I'd say it was a success.
