It is October in Ohio, so the weather is in God’s hands now! Scarlet Oaks Estate told us it is the most beautiful time to have a wedding at the venue, but in case it is a little chilly, please bring a jacket as this is an outdoor venue.
Tentatively, the wedding ceremony will be outdoors on the lawn, dinner will be held inside the barn, and the reception will be held outdoors near the front of the venue. In case of rain, we will move everything to the barn and/or tents.
Free parking is available at the venue in a paved lot behind the barn, and there is plenty of space!
Due to capacity limits in the barn at the venue, unfortunately not every guest will receive a plus one. Your RSVP card in your formal invitation will indicate if you have a plus one (“__ seats have been reserved in your honor”)
Again, unfortunately, due to capacity requirements this will be an adults-only wedding and reception. We have many, many children on both sides of our family and would easily double our guest list! We appreciate you arranging childcare in advance so you can still celebrate with us!
After the ceremony, the wedding party and immediate family will take some quick photos on the venue grounds. During this time, we invite you to a cocktail hour in the reception area in the front of the venue. We promise to make it quick so we can get to the party!
Of course! Bring your appetite because the menu will be good old-fashioned BBQ, provided by Miller’s Meats, BBQ, & Catering in Findlay, OH (and oh my, is it delicious!). Provided will be smoked BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and chicken thighs, coleslaw, green beans, potatoes au gratin, and a side salad.
The venue is only a short drive back into the city of Findlay to the Hancock Hotel. Uber, Lyft, and other taxi services are available in Findlay. However, availability may be limited due to Covid-19. Please drink responsibly, and plan for a safe way to travel home or to your hotel!
