The Night Everything Changed

Let's take it back to 2004 The year Ella was born Aida is in need of a babysitter My mother is one Three month old Ella came into our life, the perfect spring As the years went on my family took a liking to Aida. As the years went on I took a liking to Ella. Four years passed so fast They became part of our family As I became close with Ella, I also became friends with Aida One night my mom invited Aida to a party Aida asked me if I was going, but I said "sorry" For some reason though I decided to go I thought I'd holla at Aida on the low Now this is where the plot starts to thicken A bachata song came on and we started to kick it I hit her with my moves, I could tell she was feeling me I was feeling her too, her radiance was killing me My heart was pounding, but I had to keep it cool. I was definitely nervous This was different It felt like it was just us two in that room Lucky for me, we talked, we danced, we laughed I finally mustered up the courage and went for it A nice little kiss on the lips, like we expected it That night that changed everything, we stayed up for hours Trying to make sense of this Undeniable Chemistry We became partners Our lives literally changed overnight 11 years later we're engaged, that's right Thank you all for reading our story The best is yet to come, the marriage, the glory I'm grateful and honored to be your man I can't wait for the day that I get to put that band on your hand

The proposal

Two weeks before our anniversary, Alex told me that we were going to a cozy dinner, following a fun night out dancing in celebration of 11 years together. I got specific instructions that I could not ask questions about our night out. He said “all you have to do is get dressed and look spicy”. So naturally, I wanted to wear a short tube dress! Duhhh! But Alex had other plans. He took me shopping one day after work and picked out a more conservative dress and shoes. I’ll be honest, as we were on the line to pay for my clothes, I thought there was nothing spicy about this navy blue dress. Yet, I asked no questions. The night of the proposal, Alex did everything to stall: he got home late from the barbershop, took forever to get ready, made us catch a cab in the street and even said he left his wallet in his mother’s house so we can stop there before we go to dinner. That’s when I was surprised. All of our closest friends and family were there to surprise me on our anniversary. During his toast, Alex said that celebrating our 11th year anniversary in his mother’s home among our friends and family was fitting because this is where we met. But, the biggest surprise was when he proposed. No one expected this. I of course said “por fin cońo” instead of yes. But honestly, our engagement was right on time. We are growing in love and understanding and ready to make it officially, official! Thank you all for sharing and we cannot wait to share our special moment with you all!
