It was my 20th birthday and I was looking for something fun to do. My friend called me asking if I wanted to go to a costume party with him and his friend Gio. Of course I said ya. Little did I know that night would change my whole life. When we got to the party I didn't know anyone. I sat on the coach kind of quiet. Gio walked over and sat by me and we started to talk. That conversation seemed like it lasted all night, I felt like I could talk to him for hours. After that we were pretty much inseparable. We were talking and hanging out all the time. I never thought that one party and having that one conversation would lead us to where we are now.

It was Halloween and our third Halloween in a row now seeing our favorite d.j Bassnectar. We were dressed up as Han Solo and Princess Leia. I was so excited as it was, just going to see "the man" with friends from all across the country. Usually we have a bunch of friends at Bassnectar shows but this was the first time ever we were all actually together and in the same spot. It was about the middle of the show when Gio tried talking to me. I was trying to shoo him away, because I mean come on Bassnectar is playing and I didn't want to look at anything else in that moment. But then he finally got my attention. He pulled out a ring box that was actually a sphere and was hand painted as the death star from star wars. It was the best moment of my life thus far. I was so surprised and excited. That is when I realized all of our friends knew what was going on. He couldn't have done it better.
