How we met…again…

Act I The story of these star-crossed lovers began in high school as incoming freshmen. They rode on the same bus the first day of school. Both eager to make friends and “fit in,” they found themselves in the library one morning discussing their classes, one of which was Spanish, a class they shared. When the bell rang and it was time to go to homeroom, Mike complemented Alexa on the watch she was wearing to which she replied “thanks, my boyfriend gave it to me.” That would perhaps be their last interaction in high school as the two went their separate ways. Mike would forge his path as an athlete, making friends and earning acclaim on the ice and baseball diamond. Alexa was flourishing with other artists, designing costumes for the play and learning photography. While they fell in with different crowds, they never drifted too far apart - literally. Each year they appeared beside one another in the yearbook. During graduation, she was right behind him in line. Eight years would pass until they crossed paths again. In that time much growth and life experience would re-shape them until the time was truly right for them to connect. They both graduated college, got jobs, and started life on their own. Mike went from a school in Pennsylvania where he learned how to shotgun a beer, to working on engineering buildings. Alexa went from an art school in NYC where she learned about fashion, to working as a photographer's assistant. Then life as they knew it took a nosedive as the COVID pandemic changed their trajectories. Alexa decided to embark on a new career path as a personal trainer. She moved back to her parent’s house and right into Mike’s tinder search radius… Act II As if dating wasn’t hard enough, COVID made it nearly impossible. Yet despite a multitude of failed introductions, ghosting, miserable dates and mask mandates, Alexa and Mike both matched on a dating app. This was both somewhat awkward and intriguing to them. Mike started the conversation by messaging “hey, I know you!” From there, they agreed to meet up. Was it a date? Neither of them knew what to expect. They decided to meet for a coffee. Things went well. They had a long walk with good conversation. They were having fun and decided to get dinner. The date ended in a firm embrace. “Wow,” Mike thought, “that was a strong hug.” From that point on, things evolved in a quick and effortless way. They bonded over food, music, and kundalini yoga. Soon they would be spending every weekend together. It became more and more clear to them that they were soulmates and that time was required for them to find themselves before they could find each other (again). Time passed like a dream, and it was their second Christmas living together in the small place they named the Harmony House. There was only one thing Alexa had on her x-mas list and that was an engagement ring! However, what she got from Mike was a weekend getaway to Austin, TX - a city she had been wanting to visit. This was really nice but left her a little disappointed. Two months later, on Valentine’s Day, they were walking to dinner in New Hope. The next day they would be flying to Texas for their getaway. They were a little early for their reservation, so Mike suggested that they meander down to the river. Despite how cold it was, Alexa agreed. On that beautiful, cloudless, February evening, as the sun was setting, Mike confessed his love for Alexa, dropped to a knee, and asked her to marry him. She was stunned! “Are you kidding me?” she exclaimed. It was no joke, and her answer was a resounding “YES!” Act III Over the years, Alexa and Mike’s love has evolved into a joyous, fun loving, and intensely vivacious companionship. They are so excited to celebrate the wondrous union of marriage with their family and friends and hope that their enthusiasm for the divine beauty of life will resonate throughout the entire evening. This is still just the beginning and so much more adventure is to come…
