Fate (and a little bit of wedding magic) had a funny way of bringing us together. We first met at our friends’ wedding, walking side by side down the aisle as a bridesmaid and groomsman—a moment that, in hindsight, feels perfectly destined. Though we didn’t talk much that night, something about our brief interactions clearly stuck. A couple months later, Jordan reached out via social media, asking me out and leaving his number. As a naturally shy and reserved person, I was nervous to respond at first. But I kept thinking about his message and the brief connection from months before, so I thought “Why not?” (Little did I know!) Fittingly, our very first date was also at a wedding, where I joined him as his plus-one. After that night, we were absolutely inseparable. A few days later, I drove to Lexington to see him again, and from there, everything fell perfectly into place. It’s funny know weddings played such an important role in the beginning of our story. From that first walk down the aisle as members of the wedding party, to our first date celebrating love at a wedding, it seems only fitting that we take another walk down the aisle together—this time as bride and groom. And as if fate wanted to remind us it was always at work, we later discovered that we grew up in the same hometown, living mere miles apart from one another, yet somehow never crossing paths until that one special wedding aisle brought us together.
