In the Spring of 2019, at a dive bar called “Burnside Inn” on Mass Ave in downtown Indy, Joe walked up to the third floor on a busy Friday night in-search of an empty pool table. What he discovered was something and someone much greater. Many thanks to the help of an inebriated friend who had the courage to ask a very pretty stranger if she could borrow her chapstick, a conversation was born between Joe and Alexa. After a few weeks of short but very sweet courtship, it was time for Joe to move to San Diego, California for a new job with a new company, something he had been open and honest about since the two met. The next 3 years consisted only of a desperate need for a ride form the airport and to borrow a car for a weekend, (which Alexa fulfilled), and a long-distance facetime home to Alexa seeking a recommendation of where to purchase classy furniture (advice that Joe was thankful for but most-definitely did not act upon). In the Winter of 2021, Joe moved home to Indianapolis to a great new job and apartment downtown, where Alexa had continued to flourish and expand her hair-styling business. A few months later in February 2022, this time at the hottest new bar in town called “Pins Mechanical”, the two happened to run into each other, somehow both magically single. A request to “get dinner and catch up” was swiftly accepted and planned, and in March of 2022 the couple was made official. Joe asked Alexa to be his forever adventure partner on April 29, 2025 on top of Cathedral Rock in Sedona, AZ after a beautiful Klaybor-Shaughnessy wedding weekend in Scottsdale.
