FAQs

There are no dumb questions, only the one's we forgot to answer.
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We hope you'll put your card in the mail on the same day you receive it, but no later than November 26th please.

Question

What if I have a dietary need?

Answer

We're only too happy to help meet whatever dietary need you might have. The caterer can accommodate a wide range of vegan, gluten, allergy, and other dietary requests. Just let us know what you need and we'll be sure to take good care of you.

Question

What time does the sun set on December 30th?

Answer

That's a great question. The Farmer's Almanac predicts that we will be able to enjoy a gorgeous sunset on Candlewood Lake at approximately 4:33 PM. There are mountains in the distance, so we may lose the light between 4:25 and 4:30 PM. Come share in the spectacle if you're so inclined. The cocktail hour starts promptly at 5 PM.

Question

Do you have a hashtag?

Answer

Never ones to miss a pun, we've settled on #abartlettpair (throw an emoji in there if you're feeling saucy).

Question

Who are the priests celebrating the day's Mass?

Answer

Monseigneur Robert Weiss is a longtime family friend of the Vacaro family and is the Pastor for the St. Rose of Lima Church in Newtown, Connecticut. With this wedding, he completes his collection, as he has celebrated the marriages of all three Vacaro children. Fr. Brendan Lally, S.J. is Jason's longtime friend, co-collaborator, and mentor. Their troublemaking began at their alma mater, The University of Scranton. The duo reunited for a sequel at Saint Joseph's University, where Father still serves as the rector of the Jesuit Community.

Question

We're from the West Coast...how should we dress?

Answer

December will be cold. Pack your warm winter coat, gloves, hat, and a scarf. You'll want warm jams, socks, and sweaters for your down time. Boots probably aren't necessary unless we get some snow, so you could probably make do with a high top hiking shoe or sneakers.

Question

What's On The Menu?

Answer

Entrees include: Grilled Filet Mignon Served with Spinach Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes, Roasted Carrots, Served With Madeira Demi-Glace. Salmon Roulade Salmon stuffed with a Lobster, Shrimp and Scallops Stuffing Topped with a Tomato, Asparagus and Buerre Blanc Sauce on a Risotto Cake. Chicken Normandy A Tower of Grilled Chicken over an Apple and Vegetable Bread Stuffing, Topped with Cherry and Craisin Infused Demi-Glace. Vegetarian Option: Available upon request. All other dietary needs accommodated upon request also. Please let us know what we can do to make your meal just right.

Question

What's the dress code for day?

Answer

The dress code for the day is formal attire. The bridal party will be in tuxedos and gowns. Guests are asked to wear dresses and suits.

Question

Are children invited to the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Children are welcome at the ceremony. However, to allow all of our guests to enjoy an evening of relaxation, we respectfully request that the reception remain for adults only.

Question

Where is the afterparty taking place?

Answer

Guests are invited to stop by Barbarie's Black Angus Steakhouse (3 Eagle Road Danbury, CT). The kitchen will be closed, but the bar is open and drinks will be available for purchase. Also, the restaurant allows you to order food from other restaurants and have it delivered to the bar. Be sure to book your room at the Courtyard by Marriott so that you can walk across the parking lot to your room when you're done. The Hampton Inn is just half a mile down the road.
