It was Friday, and I had just gotten home from a long and relatively stressful day of work. I was ready to tell him all about it. However, he had other plans. He said we should go look for new shooting spots that are closer to our house rather than across the valley. I admit, I put up a fight in wanting to go at first. But we hopped in the truck and took off. I was taking it seriously, I brought my lunchbox with snacks and all. We kept passing side places that I thought maybe good spots, but we never actually stopped. I had no idea what we were doing but I was enjoying the drive either way. He said, "Since we're this far out, I want to show you something before we head back home". We had visited the Dahl Lake area in the winter when there was snow and it looked completely different now that there was plant life all around. We got to the point where we couldn't drive in anymore and he said we should walk in a little ways. I got out of the truck and was waiting for him. The next thing I knew he called from behind me on one knee "Alexa, will you marry me?" As for my response, I was so shocked I legitimately said "Nuh-uh". I guess you could say I was in disbelief and I probably could've been more proper, but that's what came out. I did say yes after to make things clear, and we sat there on that hill not wanting to leave for a while. But now here we are, and here you are reading our proposal story!
