In anticipation of our BIG day, we have decided that a wedding website would be the easiest way to allow you guys to get ahold of us and to learn more about our relationship. Feel free to roam through the website but here is a guide to each page: · "Wedding Party" Showcases the wonderful people we hold close to us and are standing with us on our big day · “Our story!” is your opportunity to read how we met, fell in love, & everything in between! · “The Proposal!” will have a few pictures and a video for you guys to see how Dakota “Popped the Question.” (grab a tissue). · “Registry” is a list of gifts that we have assembled to ask from you.
Dakota and I met our sophomore year of high school in spring 2015. A mutual friend of ours decided to bring him to lunch with us one day and introduced him to the friend group. The group lunches became more frequent that semester and we all became good friends. Over the following summer we started to spend more time together just the two of us when we became “running buddies.” We both wanted to start trying to run every day and build up to running a 5k (spoiler alert that’s what we finally did for our first anniversary). That time spent running eventually turned into us talking about life for hours and hours and just meeting up to walk around the park even when we didn’t feel like running because we just wanted an excuse to see each other. This back and forth flirting went on all summer and into our junior year of high school. At this point, everyone in our life was already waiting for us to just start dating and their wish came true when we finally began dating October 16, 2015. At this point he was already my best friend so we had a few awkward first dates to figure out how this would work because we already knew so much about each other. Fast forward through high school, we stuck together the whole time. He was, and still is, my best friend. We started college at different schools and our freshman year we faced many MANY trials. Through it all, he continued to pursue me, keeping me feeling safe, secure, and loved. We learned a lot that year and grew so much in our relationship that I knew then he was the man I was meant to marry. Our sophomore year was a bit easier but only because we got used to the distance. Dakota finally joined me at OU our junior year which has been amazing because he is my favorite football buddy. Now, as we are nearing the end of our college career, I know I am beyond ready to spend the rest of my life with this man of my dreams. -Alexa
