Question

Is the wedding family friendly?

Answer

Yes! Our wedding ceremony and reception is structured to be very family friendly. During the reception we have a conference room reserved in which there will be childcare.

What activities will there be for the kids?

Answer

In the childcare room the children will participate in stations such as painting seashells, facepainting, and a bouncy house. Around 8pm we will put on Moana to help settle the kids down for the night.

When will the childcare be open?

Answer

The childcare will open after dinner, speeches, and first dances. It will stay open until an hour after our reception ends. If you are staying at the hotel, you are welcome to take this time to go change or spend time with your significant other. We wanted to make sure that there was time for married couples to decompress after the event.

Do my kids have to be in childcare when it is open?

Answer

No, it is not a requirement. However, there will be drinking and adult themed music playing once it is open.

Can I see my children while in childcare?

Answer

Yes! We are hoping to have a baby cam set up in the room, with a live feed in the reception hall. You can claim/visit them as many times as you would like throughout the night. We do ask that you sign them out each time similar to a church daycare. They are not allowed to leave without a parent. If there is an issue you will be contacted via your phone. If you do not respond/see the message we will have the DJ make an announcement.

What time does the ceremony start?

The ceremony starts at 4:00pm. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to get seated.

Why does the reception end at 9:30?

Answer

North Carolina has regulations on how long alcohol can be served at events. After the reception, parties can relocate to the beach or the hotel bar.

Are there events outside the wedding planned?

Answer

Yes, however we are still finalizing details. Once finalized, I will update the schedule tab. Wedding events will occur Friday-Sunday.

Can outside drinks be brought in?

No.

Aren't y'all already married?

Answer

Yes! But when we got married (during Covid) there were heavy restrictions. We were unable to have a reception/invite everyone we wanted in attendance. Charles promised Alexa the big traditional wedding on their 5 year anniversary (10/25/2025).

Is a swimsuit needed?

Answer

If you would like! The hotel has an indoor pool.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Not officially. We will be having a host bar, more details to come.

If you can bring a plus one, it was specified on your invite.

If your kids are going to the children room please bring PJ's/comfy clothes.
