The Breakers
The grandest of the Gilded Age mansions, the Breakers was built between 1893 and 1895 as the summer home of Cornelius Vanderbilt. A must see for first-time visitors to Newport!
Cliff Walk
A 3-mile public trail in Newport, the Cliff Walk features stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the mansions. Fun fact: Alex and Nick went for a walk here after taking the LSAT, with Alex stressed about whether he misapplied a rule in the logic games section. All turned out well!
Del’s Lemonade
An old-fashioned frozen lemonade store. Great thirst quencher in the summer heat!
The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar
Alex’s and Nick’s favorite seafood restaurant in Newport. Try their shrimp cocktail, clam chowder, or lobster! The outdoor section has stunning views of the water.
Newport Flower Show
The weekend of our wedding coincides with the annual Newport Flower Show (June 19-21). Check out the floral arrangements at Rosecliff, one of the historical Newport mansions.
International Tennis Hall of Fame
A historical tennis court and museum. Not to be missed for fans of the HBO show, Gilded Age, which filmed several scenes here.
Fort Adams State Park
A historical fortification and public park on the water.
