Alex and Kyra where both in the band during college so it's only right the first time they exchanged words was at a band party in August, 2015. However both of them were in relationships at the time, so they remained acquaintances. God didn't cross their paths again until 2017 when they were both selected to serve in two band organizations: Tau Beta Sigma (Kyra) and Kappa Kappa Psi (Alex). After officially becoming members, Alex and Kyra spent a lot of time together during frequent gatherings with their friends. Things clicked quickly, one thing led to another, and they lived happily ever after.

Alex proposed to Kyra at the beginning of what she thought was a birthday trip to Destin, FL for just the two of them. Once they arrived in Destin, Alex told Kyra that they needed to meet the owner of their AirBnb on the beach to get the key since the keypad wasn't working. Kyra was actually getting annoyed, for several reasons:. (1) She was really eager to see this place that Alex was surprising her with because she thought it was this resort she'd heard him and his family talk about often before, (2) it was extremely hot outside, (3) if the keypad wasn't working, why did they have to meet him and not the other way around? Once the two of them were on the beach, facing the ocean and taking in the vibes, Kyra hears somebody shout "'T' 'U'!" from behind them and they both turn around. To Kyra's surprise both her family, Alex's family, and a few of their closest friends were all walking towards them with big smiles on their faces, and their phones out. Kyra was flabbergasted and stood there in complete shock, because Kyra had just talked to her family that morning and they'd lead her to believe that they were all still in Chicago. When Kyra finally turned back around, she saw Alex on bended knee holding out a beautiful ring. Alex asked Kyra to be his wife and she enthusiastically said yes! However this was not the only surprise Alex had up his sleeve. The AirBnb Kyra was so eager to see was huge and stunning. On top of that her family was going to be staying with them which Kyra loved because she was homesick after spending her first birthday away from them. It was an amazing and heart warming vacation, with memories made to last a lifetime.
