The Freedom Trail is so fun! It’s free and a great way to see all of historical sites. We walked it when Dane came and visited Boston 2 months after we started dating. There’s a super cheap ferry ride at then end too :)
Boston Duck Tours are so fun! You get in a bus that drives through the Boston common and INTO the Charles river! It turns into a boat. So fun. Tickets are about 53 dollars. The tour guides are super funny and knowledgeable about the history of Boston, and they’ll even let you drive the boat and give you a sticker when you’re in the river. Plus, people will quack at you from the streets and you can quack back. Big fan.
This place is super close to the reception venue and lots of fun. They have an arcade, bowling, food and go karts.
Alenda’s mom took Dane here on a “date” once. It’s always been one of Alenda’s favorite places too. It’s about 15 minutes from the reception venue. There’s a Gristmill, and an Inn built by Henry Ford and was visited regularly by poets like Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The school house from “Mary Had a Little Lamb is on the grounds as well. We actually considered having our reception here for a little bit :) There’s also a cute seafood place near by!
If you’re looking for a place to feel God’s love on Sunday at 9:30, this is it! First hour is Sacrament meeting and the second hour will be classes. All are welcome! Please ask if you have any questions!
This place is SO fun! The shot heard round the world, The Battle of Concord and Lexington, the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere, churning butter - If you’re a revolutionary ward geek, you’ll have a blast and learn a ton. If you’re not a revolutionary war geek, this place will either be a lovely place to walk and look around or it will convert you.
