It all started over Fourth of July weekend in 2022 at Corcoran’s in Chicago. We had matched on Hinge a few days before, Matt gave me his number, and we decided to meet up that night - Matt coming from a Cubs game and Aleks from a full day of Fourth of July festivities. We both brought a friend along, but it didn’t take long to realize this was more than just a random night out. From the very beginning, everything felt easy, like we had known each other for much longer than just a few hours. After only knowing each other for a few weeks, Matt welcomed Aleks into the Witter/Beley family with a trip to New York City, where they spent the weekend laughing, meeting his cousins, and celebrating a family engagement. One date turned into many, and before we knew it, we were building a life together. Since that first summer night, we’ve traveled near and far - exploring places like Lisbon, Madeira, Rome, Positano, Florence, Peru, and Puerto Rico, and spending time across Michigan, Wisconsin, Tennessee, New York, California, Florida, and Georgia. Along the way, we’ve made a home together - now living in our second apartment, with Matt proudly stepping into the role of “papa” to Mishu.
