FAQs

Question

Can I stay at Dainava?

Answer

Yes, we encourage it! Room reservations will be on a first come, first served basis. The average room at Dainava has at least four beds. Therefore, to ensure adequate space for everyone, we will be asking families and friends to share rooms together.

Question

How do I reserve a room at Dainava?

Answer

Instructions for room reservations will be included with the wedding invitations.

Question

Why stay at Camp Dainava?

Answer

Staying overnight at Camp Dainava is FREE. The ceremony, reception, and brunch are all walking distance from the barracks where guests will stay. Before and after the celebration, guests are encouraged to enjoy the lake, the beach, the nature, the hiking trails, and the outdoor basketball and tennis courts.

Question

What do I need to bring if I stay in Dainava?

Answer

Dainava accommodations are truly minimal, so come prepared for that. **You will need to bring your own sheets, pillow, blanket/sleeping bag, toiletries, beach towel, bath towel, etc.** Every person will get their own bed; they are all twin beds and most are bunk beds. There are newly remodeled communal bathrooms with showers, so a shower caddy might come in handy. There is no A/C or heating in the rooms. A small personal fan might be a good idea. Typical temperatures for June in Dainava can be as high 90 degrees during the day, and as low as 55 degrees at night. Please come prepared for all weather conditions.

Question

I do not want to stay at Camp Dainava. Where else can I stay?

Answer

Please see the hotel block options found under the "travel" tab.

Question

Is this an outdoor wedding?

Answer

Yes! Please be prepared for all weather conditions. We suggest bringing rain gear, umbrellas, sunglasses, and sunscreen. With the exception of severe/dangerous weather, the ceremony will take place outside, rain or shine.

Question

If I spend the night in Dainava, who will I be sharing a room with?

Answer

We will be grouping friends and families together. Be assured that you will not be paired with random strangers.

Question

When can we arrive?

Answer

Guests spending the night at Dainava may arrive as early as 6pm on Friday. Guests may also arrive Saturday before the ceremony if they choose.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Feel free to wear anything from summer dresses to cocktail dresses for the women and suits (tie or not!) for the men. Since there is a lot of outdoor (grassy) walking, it is best to not wear stiletto heels; wedges, flats, and sandals will work great! It is also a good idea to come prepared with umbrellas and rain gear.

Question

Where can I park?

Answer

Parking will be clearly designated in the grass next to a white garage, which is near the outdoor chapel.
