Their love for music is what brought them together. Alex and Karen met the summer of 2017 at the Texas State University mariachi auditions. They were both nervous for this 2 day audition process, but later seemed to settle in after a few conversations. They had a lot in common! They were both from border towns, they were both music education majors, and they were both (hopefully) going to be in the collegiate mariachi. Fast forward to the second day of auditions... Alex and Karen had spent a full two days with each other and were waiting for the results. That evening, they both received an email stating they had been selected as members of the mariachi! This was the start of their friendship. After one year of playing in the same group, taking the same classes, and carpooling to gigs, they realized that that their friendship was like no other. This is when they both decided to become more than friends.
