Erin and Alejandro met through mutual friends - but are unable to pinpoint who or when. We didn't talk much but knew who each other were. When Erin moved back to her hometown in December 2019 after 10 years away, she was working at a local restaurant when Alejandro came in. As soon as he sat down and she recognized his face, she said happily, "hey...haven't seen you in a while!" and proceeded to ask him what he was doing later. That night, they met up at a local music show.
What better place to have our wedding than in the middle of the New Mexican desert, right?! After touring local venues for our wedding, none of them felt right. When Erin discovered Ghost Ranch, it just resonated. Ghost Ranch is located in a town called Abiquiu (Ab-i-kyoo), New Mexico, about 1 hour 20 mins. away from the Santa Fe Airport, and 2 hours from the Albuquerque Airport. The landscape of Ghost Ranch – made famous by painter Georgia O’Keeffe – encompasses 21,000 acres of towering rock walls, vivid colors and vast skies. People from all over the world come to work together in creation care, to paint, to write poetry, to hike, ride horseback, to research globally renowned archaeological and fossil quarries or simply to rest and renew their spirits. You can learn more about this special place at www.ghostranch.org.
We understand the added complications that come with having a wedding in such a remote place. While we want nothing more than to celebrate with all of our loved ones, we know that the added expense and logistics is a big ask. We wanted to extend the invitation to everyone but will more than understand if you are unable to make it. With that being said, if you are up for the adventure we thank you and cannot wait! If you are not - we will celebrate with you in some fashion when we return home!
