Alejandra & I matched on the dating app, Hinge, in the Summer of 2023. I swiped “right” on her profile immediately upon seeing it, as it was the most real & honest I had ever seen. Her profile was headlined with “All I ask is that you are honest about your intentions.” As for her matching with me, I had to earn it a bit more. She didn’t tell me until several months into us dating, but she hit me with the old “left hook” and sent me to the trash pile the first go-around. Que cruel! But, as fate would have it, my profile came across her feed once more and she thought to herself, “Oh well. Maybe I’ll throw the poor boy a bone.” For our first date, we met at a Brewery. I got good vibes right away & what I originally expected to last 45 min or so turned into nearly 3 hours before I knew it. I made sure to grab her number before the end of the night. Our second date was an Austin FC soccer game that got delayed due to rain. It was well over a 4 hour game, yet less than 5 minutes in she made it abundantly clear that my green shirt with a hole in it was not exactly up to dating code. It was the only green shirt I owned! I was just showing my team spirit! Of course, she was correct. But there again, her patience shined and the relationship started to blossom.
