We met briefly during the 2016 Latinx Student Initiative retreat at Iowa State University. The week after the retreat, we ran into each other at the ISU gym which was the first time we spoke to each other. After that interaction, we became friends, went on dates, and began to get to know each other. After four months of friendship, Andres officially asked Alejandra to be his girlfriend on January 9, 2017. We went on many adventures together while always supporting each other's dreams and careers. We fell in love and realized we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. In November 2020, Andres asked Alejandra's parents for her hand in marriage, and they gave him their blessing. On December 11, 2020, Andres proposed to Alejandra, and she said YES! We are excited to celebrate our love with our family and friends! ❤
