What started as a Halloween night out with the guys led to a photo that would catch the eye of my future wife! After many quick dates with strangers online and feeling ready to delete the app, I got a message from Alejandra asking "I gotta ask... what's with the Winnie the Pooh costume?!" Two years later she is still calling out my ridiculous ideas and plans!!! Stuck trying to put in words how we met..... the story is simple. I met an amazing person that showed me that life was about more than work and spreadsheets. In the two years since meeting Alejandra we have both changed jobs twice, moved twice, adopted Murphy, and have had endless amount of trips, concerts and adventures. I usually have to think through big decisions and work out the numbers before confirming them again, but not when it came to the decision of asking Alejandra to be my accomplice in life!!
After weeks of stressing about the ring I got the call that the ring was ready to be picked up. I decided not to wait anymore, I called her and told her not to worry about dinner and that we were going out. I did not say much else other than to be ready by the time I got home, and it turns out she was at the grocery store planning a surprise of her own. She had to return all the items in her shopping cart, something that she was not too happy about. Without her knowing I booked a reservation at John's Grill in SF, the restaurant we went to the night I asked her to be my girlfriend. My plan was to recreate that night. She had no idea where we were going as we hoped on Bart and headed to the city. She started to put the pieces together as we walked to the restaurant from Bart. We sat down at the restaurant and started talking about all the adventures and milestones we have experienced since last being at that restaurant. After the meal we headed to Cityscape Bar on the 46th floor of the Hilton. Over a few more drinks we kept on reminiscing about the last two years. After a conversation full of laughs and the good times we have spent, I told her that there is only one thing missing in my life, to which her response was "what" with great concern on her face. I dropped down to one knee, pulled a ring out of my shirt pocket and told her "For you to be my wife!" She started crying and immediately started to put he ring on, to which I looked at her and asked "is that a yes?" and she nodded her head yes!!!!
