Mexico City International Airport (MEX)

The best airport to fly in and out of is the Mexico City International Airport; officially Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez (Av. Capitán Carlos León S/N, Peñón de los Baños, Venustiano Carranza, 15620 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico). The airport is located east of anywhere we would advise you to stay. It is about a 30-40 minute drive from the historic city center area, El Zócalo, and the Condesa area, and about a 50-60 minute drive from the wedding venue. Given traffic in Mexico City is always variable, we suggest accounting for extra time. To leave the airport we would suggest an Uber or registered airport taxi. Once you access the Uber app at the airport you should see a welcome screen that will tell you how to order the vehicle at the airport. All you need to do is inform the driver via the app at which "Puerta" (door) he or she should meet you. Airport taxis are also available, the official airport taxis are easily recognizable, featuring red and gold or pink and white livery – it’s best to avoid unlicensed taxis. You can purchase your taxi ticket at the “Transporte Terrestre” kiosk. You then present the ticket to the driver as you enter the taxi and he/she will know where to take you!

Travel Note

Getting around Mexico City

Uber- safest and most reliable, it's relatively cheap compared to North American standards. While there is a metro system, we would not recommend it as it is often crowded and can be hard to navigate.
