In the Fall of 2014, in the back row of Introduction to Sociology at the Greenspring Campus of Stevenson University, Henry and Aleia first met. At the time, Henry was a sophomore computer information systems major, a defensive lineman for the SU football team, and while maintaining good grades in all of his classes, he was also the school's unofficial and unsanctioned party-thrower, determined to tell as many jokes during class as possible. Aleia, on the other hand, was a freshman biology major on the pre-med track, intent on studying 24/7, making perfect grades, and attending medical school after graduation. From then on, the two became friendly acquaintances, greeting each other around campus, though never really getting close. Henry went on to graduate in May of 2016, start working at Navy Federal in July of that year, and the two fell out of touch. During the summer of 2017, at a party with some friends, and fueled by a little liquid courage, Aleia sent Henry a Snapchat of a selfie which changed both of their lives. Henry responded (almost immediately), and the two started talking on Snapchat, then texting every day. By the Fall of 2017, Aleia's last semester of college, they had become an important part of each other's daily lives - anytime anything happened, Henry was one of the first people Aleia had to talk to, and vice versa. As a matter of fact, when Aleia received full-ride offers to law schools in Miami, Henry was the first person Aleia told, and he cheered her on over the phone. And when Henry received a well-deserved promotion at work, Aleia did the same for him. After some fear of heartbreak on Aleia's part, the two again fell out of touch until January of 2018, when they once again started speaking every day. After some reassurance from Henry (and Aleia's friends and family), Aleia finally decided to give this a real shot, as Henry was more than worth the risk. Henry and Aleia officially became boyfriend and girlfriend on May 8, 2018 (though Henry had asked the day before, but Aleia requested that he ask again the next day so they could have a "prettier" anniversary date), and have been inseparable since. Henry was practically a resident of the City of Miami during Aleia's time in law school, and was the best supporter Aleia could have ever asked for. The two purchased their first home together in 2020, where they share a cat named Bella, a puppy named Paris, and a fulfilling and loving life together. Now, the two look forward to embarking on their greatest adventure yet - marriage!
