Jon and I met the good old fashioned way...at work! Nothing like long days and the smell of animal poop to bring two people together. (If you don’t know what we do that probably sounded a little strange. We’re zookeepers) After a few months of working together and a few group outings to our favorite pubs we decided we liked each other enough to go out just the two of us.
We met for dinner at Barra (Jon was late) and I had four tacos (but he didn’t tell me that was too many) and we split the check because I was nervous and didn’t know if it was actually a date, but it was still somehow the best dinner I’ve ever had. After dinner the plan was to go axe throwing but instead we ended up walking around downtown Sandusky and spent the rest of the night at Barrel House Saloon listing to a band I don’t remember. It was all a little awkward but so are we, and it was the best date ever.
Jon and I both love Christmas and we had plans to go to Sandusky to see the light displays. We had dinner at Barra and then walked around the park looking at all the lights. Jon was acting a little weird and made it very adamant that we needed to end the night at the big Christmas tree, but who was I to judge, I love that big Christmas tree. And so, in front of that giant Christmas tree Jon asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. You’re all reading this because I said yes and WE’RE GETTING MARRIED
