While you're here, you NEED to try a good Jersey bagel! Aleen's favorite is a sesame bagel, toasted, with olive cream cheese and Jonah's is either a salt bagel with lox cream cheese or one of their must have croissants! Also, it's called Taylor Ham ;) not pork roll!!
Want to extend your stay but you aren't sure where to find everything you could dream of all under one roof? Look no further than the American Dream! There's an aquarium, a water park/amusement park, mini golf, an arcade, shopping, dining and even snowboarding! Aleen and Jonah love to spend time here and our personal favorite is a round of mini golf followed by some House of 'Que or grabbing something quick from the massive food court.
Want to visit the place where it all began? Visit Aleen and Jonah's first date spot to grab some immaculately prepared sushi with some of the kindest staff around! If it wasn't for their sushi and the ambience of the place, there might not be a wedding to go to some 5 years later!
Want to get some fresh air and stretch your legs before hitting the dance floor? Overpeck Park is perfect for a walk, a run, rolling in the grass, views of the NYC skyline, a playground and more! It is where Aleen spent a lot of time flying kites with her Dad, taking walks with the family's late dog Kookie and spending family time with her parents, sisters and late grandparents.
When in Jersey, no trip is complete without a visit to the Jersey Shore! Jonah's go to is Spike's in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. In the later half of "local summer", you can enjoy the beach without the massive crowds, grab amazing food and take in the salt spray and feel the sand just a little over an hour away from the wedding events! Make sure to bring a fishing pole and ask Jonah for advice on how to reel in a big one :)
To tell someone you love them more than pizza is probably the greatest compliment you can give! That's how Aleen and Jonah feel about each other aside from when it comes to Francesca Pizza and Pasta! This was Aleen's first job and many date nights have ended with a slice from our favorite spot. Aleen loves the buffalo chicken slice and Jonah's favorite is a crispy chicken, bacon ranch slice. Don't forget to split an order of garlic knots and try their divine penne vodka while you're at it :)
