Will there be any covid restrictions in place at the wedding?

Answer

We are thrilled Michigan is planning to fully reopen on July 1st, dropping any restrictions or mask requirements. Based on this reopening plan, we are anticipating there to be no capacity, social distancing or mask requirements at our wedding. Should that change for any reason, we will update this FAQ page.

Is parking available at the wedding venue?

Answer

The parking lot attached to Shadowland Ballroom will be open and free to wedding guests.

Is shuttle service available to and from the venue?

Answer

There is! Please review the 'Schedule' tab for more details. Please note the shuttle service will only operate to and from the venue and the hotel blocks. If you are staying in another hotel or a rental house you will have to find your own transportation.

Are Uber and Lyft available in the area?

Answer

Uber and Lyft are available. But, the availability is very limited and might not be readily available compared to larger cities. Please plan your safe transportation for the evening accordingly.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love you and we love your kids, but we'd love for you to have a night off! The only kids invited to the ceremony and reception will our own nieces and nephews. If you need assistance finding babysitting services we recommend sittercity.com or care.com to find a local babysitter.

Cocktail / Semi-Formal.

Is part of the wedding outside?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both take place indoors at the Shadowland Ballroom. If you would like to walk on the beach prior to the ceremony or during cocktail hour, we won't stop you!

Why St. Joseph?

Answer

Great question! We wanted a unique experience for everyone attending our wedding. Alec's family has vacationed in the New Buffalo/St. Joseph area over the years. Mary joined the family vacation one year and also fell in love with all the area has to offer. We're sure you'll enjoy this part of the Lake Michigan shoreline as much as we have!
