Matron of Honor
Kalie is Skyler’s first cousin. Being seven years apart has given her the special experience of vividly remembering when Skyler was born and came home from the hospital. She got to feed her bottles and change her diapers and play with her, and now those seven years feel like nothing at all. She’s incredibly lucky to get to call her a friend, as well as family, and is ecstatic that she gets the privilege of standing beside her on her wedding day as one of her Matrons of Honor. Kalie lives in Cleveland with her husband and two children and works as an acting teacher and writer.
Best Man
"I first met Alec in freshman year of high school, only becoming close junior year. We became best friends just over 10 years ago and have NEVER shut up talking about movies since. I’ve actually known Skyler for much longer (literally 5th grade) but only in passing, until her and Alec started dating 12 years later. Since then, their relationship has become the heart and soul of our friend group, with our bond growing and deepening over time. Supporting their relationship was easy, agreeing to be Alec’s best man was even easier."

"I met Skyler on move in day at the Cal State Fullerton dorms. She was my next door neighbor! I remember thinking, “she seems great and I hope we become friends.” And that hope became a reality when Sky asked if I wanted to have a sleepover the first weekend our roommates were out of town. I still crack up when I think about that night and how we SOBBED while watching the moving The Fourth Kind (which was completely unexpected). I remember starting to tear up, then looking over at Sky who was also trying to hold back tears. As soon as we made eye contact, we both said “this is so sad!” and starting sobbing, and then started laughing at the fact we were both sobbing at a movie we thought was supposed to be scary. And that was the moment I knew Sky would be a lifelong friend. We’ve had some amazing adventures together like Spring Break in Santa Barbara, girls trip in Vegas, and visiting my hometown. But some of the moments I treasure most are the low key ones: Watching Rom Coms while eating with lots of ice cream and our hours long FaceTimes."

I first met Alec about a year and a half ago while working as a production assistant for his new movie project. I’d say it was wishful thinking if anyone told me that Alec would become my great friend, co-worker, role model, and then ask me to be one of his groomsmen at his wedding! But I’ve come to see Alec is full of surprises, smarts, good humor, and the qualities of a great husband. He and Skyler have a genuine love that spreads to their friends and family. They’ve made my dreams come true by inviting me to be a part of their special day.

It all started five years ago when four illiterates sat me down and begged me to work for them for free - which was pretty unusual - however, in my infinite wisdom, desperation and passion for jobs that starve me to death, I said yes. Alec was one of those illiterates. From then on out it was like we were ******* brothers. Now if there's one thing I'll always remember about Alec, it would be his very first drink of alcohol. It wasn't long after we first met five years ago when he took his first sip from a potent concoction called the Moscow Mule - a sort of love potion served discreetly in a copper mug. Since then he has developed a healthy habit of falling asleep under his desk, a neurotic obsession for Bigfoot and a continued passion to remain illiterate. These are facts. Go ahead. Ask Alec what he thought of my bio. He will respond with, “what bio?” Because illiterates can’t see letters. (John 3 3:5) But what I really value most about our friendship is how loyal he is: no matter what situation comes up or who gets hurt along the way, Alec has never wanted anything more than camaraderie and support from those around him. He isn't out looking to hurt anyone else; instead, he cares deeply about others while also being smart enough to not get caught up in any drama. He truly makes everyone feel seen and validated...the perfect qualities that make an ideal husband.

"Skyler and I met our freshman year of college at CSU Fullerton. She was mine and Naomi’s neighbor in the dorms. I felt so lucky to have met someone who shared my love of late- night snack trips, “putz-ing” around Target (multiple times a week), and an irrational addiction to the television show Friends. Very traditionally millennial. We became great friends over our years together at college and I don’t know how I would have managed without her, especially on our various road trips, both planned and spontaneous. I am so proud to be a part of her and Alec’s special day!"

"Sky and I met in High School. We were both theater kids, and we got to do lots of shows together during our time in drama. We also got to perform a scene at Fullerton Theater Festival that made it to finals. My favorite roll Sky played was Daisy from The Great Gatsby because she brought so much vibrancy to the character. Since High School, we've remained best friends, both pursuing careers in teaching. It's been such a joy sharing the highs and lows of a teaching profession with someone who is so passionate about the well-being of students. She is so full of kindness and grace! One thing that's kept our friendship strong all these years is Sky's other-oriented nature. She reaches out, provides encouragement to others, and is listening ear when things get tough. She's been a huge part of my life through all the milestones. Graduating, getting a job, getting married, having a baby. We've done life together for 12 years now and have always made time for our friendship, which is something I love about Sky! I'm blessed to be able to share Sky's special day with Alec. They deserve all the happiness in the world."

"I first met Alec in 2016 through a mutual friend and we immediately hit it off. What started from a similar sense of humor has developed over the years as we also discovered a love of bad movies. Knowing Alec has been a blast and I am glad I've gotten to watch him fractionally mature."
