Things To Do

The Art Institute of Chicago

The Art Institute of Chicago

111 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60603

You could spend an entire day here (but we'd love it if you could also come to our wedding)! There was no better way to unwind from studying than wandering around the Art Institute. Be sure to stop by Grant Wood's "American Gothic" (homage above). It'll be a great conversation piece with all of the Iowans you meet at the wedding :)

The Bean / Grant Park

The Bean / Grant Park

201 East Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60602

Even though you can see the Bean from the Athletic Association, it's worth going up to in person! A symbol of Chicago (and everyone will ask if you saw it).

Richard H. Driehaus Museum

Richard H. Driehaus Museum

50 East Erie Street, Chicago, IL 60611

We never made it to this museum during law school, but visited on a trip back to Chicago and couldn't believe what we had been missing out on. Great for lovers of history *and* lovers of silverware.

River Boat Architecture Tour

River Boat Architecture Tour

465 North McClurg Court, Chicago, IL 60611

This is a Chicago staple. Make sure to sign up for a tour in advance!

Griffin Museum of Science and Industry

Griffin Museum of Science and Industry

5700 South Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60637

This is super close to where we went to law school (in fact, Alec used to live basically across the street). This museum is particularly great for kids, or if you would like to see a German U-boat.

For all the days along the way
