Our story began almost 10 years ago in 2016. At that time, I (Ewa) was working at Lifetime Fitness in Aquatics, and Alec would constantly be at the pool deck. We had grown a friendship and looked forward to running into each other at the pool deck. Looking back, it was clear that life had plans for us because we would constantly be pulled back to one another, whether at Lifetime Fitness, UIC campus, or UIC recreation center. We found comfort and happiness in every small interaction we had. It was not until August 2020 that our friendship hit a milestone. Before this, COVID-19 had made it so that we had not interacted in over a year. However, one Saturday, by pure chance we ran into each other at a bar, Holsteins. Due to the time that had passed (and Alec's very patchy beard), I did not recognize Alec. After this, Alec spent the whole night with me. He even told one of his friends that he was going to hang out with me because "she is wifey material". We became inseparable after this and the rest became history. Since then, Ewa and Alec have traveled to 5 countries, visited countless states, got Ellie (dog), and purchased their dream home. Every step of their journey has only strengthened their bond.
