FAQs

Question

What airport should we fly into?

Answer

We recommend flying into Liberia International Airport (LIR). It’s the closest major airport and about a 2 hour drive to Nosara.

Question

How do we get from the airport to Nosara?

Answer

You can either rent a car (great if you want to explore on your own) or book a shuttle/private driver for a stress-free ride. We’ll share shuttle options closer to the date!

Question

Do I need a rental car in Nosara?

Answer

It’s not required, but it can be fun if you want to explore beaches and restaurants outside of town. Nosara itself is walkable in parts, and golf carts/ATVs are also popular ways to get around. We absolutely suggest an ATV!

Question

What’s the vibe in Nosara?

Answer

Think laid-back surf town meets jungle retreat. It’s all about beach days, yoga classes, fresh food, and sunset gatherings. Casual, comfortable, and beautiful.

Question

What’s the weather like?

Answer

Expect warm, sunny days with tropical breezes. March can be very hot during the day but evenings are super comfortable!

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Lightweight clothes, swimsuits, flip-flops, sunscreen, and something casual for evenings out. You’ll also want beach gear and a nicer outfit for wedding events.

Question

Are there things to do besides the wedding?

Answer

Absolutely! Nosara is famous for surfing, yoga, and wellness retreats. You can also go horseback riding, take ATV tours, explore nature reserves, go zipling, hiking, or just relax with a cocktail at the beach or pool!

Question

Is Nosara safe?

Answer

Yes, it’s a friendly and safe area. Like any travel destination, just use common sense—keep an eye on your belongings and be cautious when driving at night.

Question

What about money—should I bring cash?

Answer

Yes, bring some cash (U.S. dollars are widely accepted, but colones are the local currency). Credit cards work at most restaurants and hotels, but smaller shops and taxis may prefer cash.

Question

Do I need to know Spanish?

Answer

Not at all! Most locals and hospitality staff speak English, though it’s always nice to learn a few simple Spanish phrases.
