Travel Note

Airbnb

If you’d prefer a home, there are many great Airbnb options! Downtown San Antonio is very uber friendly so getting around will be no problem. Downtown, Southtown and Tobin Hill are recommended neighborhoods.

Travel Note

Rental Cars

Rental cars are not necessary, as downtown San Antonio is walker and Uber friendly. Downtown is a ten minute drive from the airport. If you do choose to rent a vehicle, please note that parking can be costly and hard to find - especially on a holiday weekend!

San Antonio Recommendations from a local friend!

You would not need a car for staying downtown, San Antonio is an easy city to navigate, basically stay in the center of the bullseye 🎯 Biggest tip, do NOT eat any food that is directly on the river walk, go for drinks or apps, but generally speaking the food is over priced or not worth it. The only exception is Esquire Tavern, The Canopy, or anything in the Pearl. If it has a view just get apps and drinks. Yelp is a great resource and pretty on point so don’t feel like this list is exclusive list just calling out some local favorites. But SA really has so much to explore and love. So much great food!!!! Breakfast Tacos I would argue that San Antonio’s signature is its breakfast tacos. If you want authentic Mexican, any restaurant that has numbers and pictures for the menu is going to be your spot! * Pete's Tako House https://yelp.to/l8E0xBLKVN $$ this is a local favorite to get real authentic San Antonio breakfast tacos! Also has a full bar if you need hair of the dog. Otherwise you really can’t go wrong with any local taco joint. * Tito's Mexican Restaurant https://yelp.to/cuKJI4blpr this is in a cute part of Southtown and very walkable and a good place to start your morning and explore. * The options here are really limitless when it comes to breakfast tacos. Brunch: brunch is breakfast but with alcohol 🥂Honestly so many great spots but some of the most popular are: * Gunther house * The moons daughter * La panadería (no alcohol 😒) * Southerly (beer only) * Supper * Box street social Fancy bars: check to see if you need reservations, - The moons daughter - The rooftop bar at the Fairmount Marriott - Paramour - Tower of Americas (only go for happy hour 4-6, sit at the bar, don’t order food here) Dinner: Anything Southtown, this is south of the hemisphere (tower of Americas) - Bar Loretta $$ - Noona ostera $$ - Hot joy $$ - Little em’s $$$$
