How our paths crossed...

01.07.2012

It was July 1st, 2012... we were both in Las Vegas celebrating with friends in our own separate worlds, little did we know this trip would transform both of our lives. Aida and a few of her high school girlfriends were on a long weekend getaway, and Alec was on a 'lads' holiday with a group of his uni mates. As both parties were soaking up the fun and atmosphere of the Vegas nightlife, the moment came where our paths finally crossed. Our eyes connected, we smiled, and guess who was the one to make the first move! Aida! She asked Alec for a dance, and from there... we danced the night away until the early hours of the morning. We talked, we laughed, we flirted... we clicked... and that was a beautiful start to our relationship. Soon the day came where we had to go our separate ways, back to our 'normal' lives, but nothing felt normal without being beside one another. A year and a half of long distance was one of the hardest periods of our lives. Waking up at the crack of dawn, and leaving family dinners to call one another - it made our love strong. However, the day finally came where Alec bought his one way ticket to Vancouver where we truly began the next chapter of our lives together, a chapter that would soon turn into a book full of laughter, love, travel & memories. Like they say, the rest is history.

When she said yes...

06.07.2019

To make his way over this side of the pond, Alec worked as a deckhand to save up and move to Vancouver... so how fitting it was that he popped the big question on a boat. Aida was oblivious, expecting an anniversary dinner date celebrating our 7 years together but as we approached Downtown, Alec had a special surprise up his sleeve. A boat was waiting for us to sail out into the open waters of Coal Harbour... After a little fun racing around in the boat, and a bottle of champagne... it was time. The setting sun shone onto the boat from behind the clouds, Aida was looking into the distance at which time Alec knelt on one knee... She returned her gaze to the boat and was presented with a smiling, young man, asking for her hand in marriage. She gasped, she laughed, she cried... She said yes!
