You can click the RSPV tab above and RSVP at any time. We will include a paper RSVP with the invite if you prefer to mail your RSVP back to us. We look forward to celebrating with you!
You will definitely be missed! If you cannot attend our wedding, please indicate "Will Not Attend" on your RSVP so we can plan accordingly. If you have already RSVP'd "Attending", but find that you will not make it, please notify us as soon as you are aware.
Most tourists (including citizens of the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and much of Europe—including Germany) do not need a visa for stays under 90 days. However, you must complete the Check-Mig form online within 72 hours of your flight (we recommend doing it 1–2 days before travel). It can be submitted as late as 1 hour before departure. https://apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/pre-registro/en/DatosViaje
Colombian law requires your passport to be valid for your stay, but it’s best to have at least 6 months of validity beyond your departure date (and airlines may require it). If your passport expires within 6 months of the wedding, we recommend renewing it now to avoid travel issues.
You should fly into José María Córdova International Airport (MDE). It’s about 30–40 minutes from the main hotel areas in Medellín. The airport is also about 8 minutes from our recommended hotel and about 13 minutes from the venue.
We recommend using Uber or inDrive. While Uber and inDrive are not fully authorized in Colombia yet, many travelers find them more reliable than taxis. Drivers may ask you to sit in the front seat, and airport pickups may happen in the parking area, accessible by escalator or elevator near the exit. Fares are typically around $16 if you’re staying near the airport and about $45 to get into the city. The drive to Medellín includes a long tunnel and winding mountain roads, so plan accordingly if you get motion sickness.
Uber is widely used and very affordable. While there is a world-class Metro and Cable Car system, Uber is usually the most convenient option.
Yes, we will provide shuttle service to and from the venue, with several scheduled shuttle stops for guests staying at hotels other than our recommended options. We still encourage you to choose one of our recommended hotels for the easiest pick-up and drop-off. If you plan to stay at a different hotel or an Airbnb, please try to book near one of the shuttle stop locations if you’d like to use the shuttle.
We will have room blocks at hotels near the wedding venue, as well as one option in the city, with shuttle service to and from the venue. You can find these hotels listed under the “Travel” tab. Guests are welcome to stay wherever they prefer, whether in Medellín or outside the city, as there is a wide variety of great hotels and Airbnbs. Please note that if you stay at a different hotel or an Airbnb, you may need to take an Uber to one of the designated shuttle hotels to use the shuttle service.
Medellín stays around 75-80°F (24-27°C) during the day and dips to the 60s°F (16-18°C) at night. It is called the City of Eternal Spring for a reason, but afternoon rain showers are common, bring a light jacket or umbrella!
Most major restaurants and shops in El Poblado accept credit cards. However, for small street vendors, small locals or tips, you will need Colombian Pesos (COP).
A 10% service charge (servicio) is usually added to the bill. You can simply say "Sí/Yes" when they ask if you'd like to include it. Extra tipping is not required but appreciated for great service.
In Medellín, good manners are not optional, they’re a big part of the culture. Always greet people with a smile and a “Hola/Hi”, and lead with “Buenos días/Good morning” or “Buenas tardes/Good afternoon” when you walk into a shop, get into an Uber, or sit down at a restaurant. Use “Por favor/Please” and “Muchas gracias/Thank you so much” often. If someone thanks you, you’ll likely hear “Con mucho gusto/You're welcome,” and you can say it right back.
The ceremony and cocktail hours will be held outdoors. The reception will take place indoors.
If you received a plus one, your guest's name is listed on your invitation and will appear under your name when you RSVP. Otherwise, we would love to keep the wedding as an intimate event with family and close friends. Thank you for understanding!
We love your little ones! However, we have decided to keep our ceremony and reception an adults-only event with the exception of our youngest wedding party members, so everyone can relax and fully enjoy the celebration. If you need to travel with children, we can help arrange trusted, English-speaking childcare at the hotel during the wedding.
YES! We want our guests to dress to impress! We require all guests to be in formal/black tie attire. Women should be dress in gowns, and men in suits or tuxedos! We’ll share more guidance closer to the date, including what to avoid, to help everyone feel confident and look their best.
The ceremony starts at 4:00 PM. We ask that all guests arrive by 3:45 PM. If you use the shuttle service, we will inform you of the pick-up time. If you are late, you will be kindly asked by our team not to enter the ceremony space. Please wait and enter during cocktail hour.
We are having an “unplugged” ceremony, which means no photos or videos. We ask all guests to follow this and be completely present during our special time. Our hired professionals will be taking the photos and videos during the ceremony. Feel free to take as many photos and videos as you’d like once the ceremony is complete!
Absolutely. Please indicate any dietary restrictions on your RSVP card so we can ensure the chef has a delicious meal prepared for you.
In Colombian wedding culture, there’s a tradition called Hora Loca (“The Crazy Hour”). Around midnight, we’ll turn things up with masks, props, loud music, and nonstop dancing. It’s a moment you won’t want to miss, and the party goes until 2:00 AM!
Yes! The bar is on us. We’ll be serving a full selection of beer, cocktails, and aguardiente (our local drink). Medellín is located high in the Andes Mountains (about 5,000 ft), so alcohol may affect you a bit faster at this altitude. We recommend drinking plenty of water between your guaros so you can stay on the dance floor until 2:00 AM!
Please avoid wearing white, ivory, cream, or bright, attention-grabbing colors such as red, neon shades, or bold vibrant tones, so the overall look feels soft, romantic, and cohesive with the wedding setting. We kindly ask guests to avoid brown and tan shades so that our bridal party can remain distinct in our wedding color palette.
