There are various airlines that offer direct flights from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale to Medellín, including American Airlines and JetBlue. We recommend booking your flight at least 3-6 months in advance, as prices can surge as the date approaches. Preparing for your flight: In order to enter and exit Colombia, you must fill out a document called CheckMIG 24 hours before your flight with your trip details. Link to the official website can be found below. Other travel requirements: Passports must be valid for 6 months after your planned departure date. If you are both a U.S. and Colombian citizen, you must travel with both passports. Upon arrival in MDE: It is recommended to allot 30-60 minutes to get through immigration at the airport. It takes approximately 30 minutes to get to El Poblado, the area we recommend staying in, but this can vary depending on traffic.
