The Princess Bride

We met at a mutual friend's house in 2019 to watch The Princess Bride. Our friend was going to the Dominican Republic so she invited several of her friends to her mom's house to watch a movie, eat and play games. We glanced at each other briefly and might have said hello but there were so many people and we were both preoccupied with the movie, pizza and games. The boys had to be kicked out around midnight as the girls were having a sleep over. We would not see each other again for another 2 years. During the pandemic, another mutual friend invited Isaac to join her and a group of friends on zoom. They usually got together Sunday evenings for games, mini concerts and just to chat. And that is how we reconnected. We remember those Sunday zoom sessions with much fondness. There were usually 5 of us and we had so much fun playing games, laughing, talking. There were times when we'd have to shut it down close to midnight because we all had to work the next day. It was a really nice, relaxed environment to just observe one another and be friends. After a few months, Isaac asked for Aleah's number but he didn't reach out to her for another 5 months. By this time, we had all gotten very busy so our Sunday zoom sessions had ended. In January 2022, Isaac finally got the courage to reach out to Aleah. He was ecstatic when she responded. We took it slow, just getting to know each other. Not too long after that, we started officially dating. Aleah fondly refers to the day we decided to start dating as the day we had "the talk." It wouldn't be for another month or so before we actually had our first in-person date at Andy's Frozen Custard. While dating during the COVID-19 pandemic had its challenges, we couldn't have done it without the amazing couples who served as our chaperones and opened up their homes for us. We're especially thankful to our families for their support and loving advice. Above all, we thank Jehovah for bringing us together and we look forward to a lifetime together serving Him.
