Please respond by September 25th.
Both the wedding ceremony and reception will be at the Chabot Space and Science Center in the Oakland hills: 10000 Skyline Blvd, Oakland, CA 94601 The ceremony will take place in the planetarium, followed by a reception in second floor of the Spees building. The event will be fully indoors. NOTE: Cell service is spotty in the Oakland Hills, but the venue will have guest Wi-Fi.
Yes, a free parking building for the event is conveniently located next to the venue.
We recommend that guests arrive at 6pm. That will provide guests enough time to park and find seating within the planetarium. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30pm.
Semi-Formal: Blazers and dresses are welcome, so are sweaters and general cocktail attire. Think "Something to wear to a nice dinner".
In October, Oakland usually sees daily high temperature in the low 70's and daily low temperature in the the mid 50's. Typically, Oakland experiences about 2 rainy days in October. Guests can expect a comfortable indoor climate during the event.
When submitting the RSVP, the option to add a plus one will appear as "Guest Name Unknown". You can then select "Will Attend" to enter their name, or "Will Not Attend" if the plus one is not needed. If you don't see the option and would like to request an additional plus one, please reach out to Aldo or Sunshine.
Absolutely! The Chabot Space and Science center is a great place for children to explore. We've done our best to include children in the RSVP options for individual families, but please let us know if you require additional RSVPs for kids. Also, let us know if they will require high chairs.
Hors d'oeuvres will be served at cocktail hour followed by a buffet dinner with meat and vegetarian stations available. Gluten free options are also available. Wine, beer, and a signature cocktail will be available, as well as coffee and sodas. Please let us know in case of other dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate.
Yes, room blocks have been set aside by the Four Points Sheraton San Francisco Bay Bridge between Friday October 13th and Sunday October 15th (checkout following day), and can be booked by guests for a discounted rate of $149 per night. See the Travel section for more details and other accommodation options.
If you are staying at the hotel, a shuttle service will be available to pick up guests at 5:30 PM on the day of the wedding. The shuttle will make trips to bring guests back to the hotel between 9:30PM - 11 PM.
There will be a short 15 minute gap after the ceremony for vendors to finish preparing for the reception upstairs. In the meantime, we would like to treat you to a planetarium show on Chabot's spectacular 70-foot dome.
We sincerely mean it when we say that your presence is gift enough, and all we can ask for is the company of our friends and family. Thus, we have decided to not have a registry. Should you wish to bring a gift anyway, a table for gifts and a wedding envelope box will be available before the ceremony.
Only the planetarium and Spees building second floor will be open to wedding guests. If the Chabot is also hosting a public telescope night, the telescopes will be available as well.
