The legislation in Savannah simply permits patrons and party goers to carry open drinks. The legal way to consume said drinks are in a plastic, 16-ounce cup (not bottles, mugs or flasks) and in the parameters of the Historic District. NO GLASS. Every bar/restaurant has plastic cups to transfer your drink into because of the law, so just ask!
The average high temperature in December is in the low 60s, but Savannah’s unpredictable winter weather could see the daily high lurch from the 40s on one day to the 70s or even into the 80s only a few days later. At night it can get down into the 40s. Clear as mud, welcome to the deep south weather patterns. Whatever you do just bring a jacket and you'll be good! All events will be indoors.
Unfortunately, no. The number hotel rooms required for a wedding block at a decent hotel was too high for our small wedding party. The "discount" was 5% or a "member rate" which most guests can obtain on their own. Savannah is a year-round tourist town and so hotel rates can be pricey. Trying to be mindful of various budgets we have listed what are felt to be the best options. There are some amazing AirBNB/VRBO short term rentals at much more affordable rates and worth checking out.
