Alex was always around. Taryn was always… avoiding being around. Meanwhile, Kim was playing the long game- listening to Alex complain about his girlfriends at the shop and casually reminding him she had a single daughter. Taryn, on the other hand, kept hearing about Alex without ever quite meeting him. Alex caught Taryn's eye, so naturally, she started hanging around the shop more. In a not creepy way. When they finally met, Alex said, “Welcome to the chaos.” Taryn panicked, said “thanks,” rolled her eyes, and walked away. He thought she hated him. She thought she blew it. He kept trying anyway (mostly with terrible jokes.) On Taryn’s birthday, Alex slid into her messages. They talked for days. Their first “date” wasn’t really a date (thanks, Kim and Phil), and after a few more almost-dates, Alex attempted to friendzone her… while still talking and seeing her almost every day. Then, after one tequila-filled night, Alex picked Taryn up from the bar, and she confidently (and drunkenly) declared him her boyfriend. He just… went with it. They’ve been inseparable ever since. Nine months later, they bought their first home. Then came a puppy. Then a baby. Fast? Maybe. Right? Absolutely. There was never really a question- they were in it for good.
