Patrick and Sarah’s story begins in the mountains of Wyoming in the summer of 2019. Sarah was a server at Lake Yellowstone Hotel, and Patrick worked in the hotel’s lobby as a porter—or as he would tell you if you asked him, cleaning toilets! They met during the first couple days of their time there, and quickly fell in love. They bonded over their shared love of adventure and appreciation of nature, and that summer together will always hold a special place in each of their hearts. While they thought their story would end after going their separate ways that year, God had his plans for them, and Covid provided the path to bring them together again. Patrick came to visit Sarah in Pittsburgh that year and met her family, they went camping together in the mountains of Tennessee, and then Sarah came to visit Patrick in New Orleans and met his family. On Sarah’s last visit to New Orleans, Patrick asked Sarah if she would consider moving down South with him, and she said yes. Since then, they’ve strengthened their relationship while Patrick has shown her the ropes of living in New Orleans. Patrick says her crawfish peeling skills need to go up one more level before she is truly considered a local, but she will get there in no time. Both Sarah and Patrick have really been focusing on personal growth and deepening their relationship and creating a firm foundation to build a family together during their time in New Orleans. They love exploring their city and surrounding areas, and eating at a variety of local restaurants. Finally, on one of these trips, Patrick told Sarah they would take the boat from his parents’ camp in Bay St. Louis to the nearby Jordan River Steamer. On that boat ride, Patrick found a secluded spot on the Jordan River to ask Sarah to step up on the bow of the boat, and asked her to marry him. The two of them are looking forward to their wedding day and celebrating with those closest to them, but they are even more excited about starting life as a married couple, and sharing the love they have for each other with the world.
